Anne Jennings Paris is the author of Killing George Washington, published by Ooligan Press in 2009. Her poems have also appeared in Zyzzyva, the Cimarron Review, and the Pomona Valley Review and she has work forthcoming in Cathexis Northwest. She lives with her son in the Portland, Oregon area, where she teaches writing at Portland Community College. The poems featured here were written during a month as Writer in Residence in the Everglades National Park as part of the AIRIE program.
