A native Texan, Janice Northerns holds a master’s degree in English with a specialization in creative writing from Texas Tech University. While at Texas Tech, she received the Robert S. Newton Creative Writing Award for her poetry. Her poems have appeared in Culebra!, Conference of College Teachers of English Studies, Concho River Review, RiverSedge, Southwestern American Literature, The Cape Rock, College English, Borderlands: Texas Poetry Review, Poem, Coal City Review, and elsewhere. She has also presented her poetry at various literary conferences, including as a featured guest reader at The WTAMU Summer Writing Program, West Texas A & M University, Canyon, Texas. Janice currently lives in Liberal, Kansas, where she teaches creative writing, literature, and composition at Seward County Community College.
