Melanie Cornejo lives in La Mesa, California. She is the author of two poetry collections: Growing up Wild and I Prayed for Rain. Her work can also be found in Morning Glory Magazine and San Diego Poetry Annual. Cornejo is the two time winner of California Lutheran University’s Mark Van Doren Prize for Excellence in Poetry and has worked as a staff member of Poetry International.
